The harshest thing about poverty is that it pushes people into survival mode, which often makes them lose their empathy toward fellow living creatures, writes ilovemydogsomuch
We see a man visiting a market organized by an extremely poor community preoccupied with basic sustenance.
However, the disgusting sight of a wee tied up puppy causes him to stop in his tracks. The man discovers that the puppy and her littermates are up for sale just like poultry. The puppy is limp and in constant pain from her muzzle and paws being tightly bound by tight tape – and no one bats an eyelid.
The man is disturbed by the puppy’s suffering and confronts the seller for torturing the baby. However, the seller loses her temper and starts defending herself. She claims that the puppy was biting her littermates, so she fastened her up and isolated her from the rest.
With no way to get the ruthless seller to release the defenseless puppy, the man decides to buy the tied up puppy in order to rescue her. He cautiously grabs the wee pup and unwinds layers and layers of tape from the puppy’s limbs and muzzle. As expected, he finds the fragile puppy scraped and wounded due to the cruel predicament.
The man fortunately had first aid supplies in his bag and he quickly disinfected the puppy’s wounds with a solution. He then fed the puppy and her littermates some food. He then took the puppy he had just saved home with him to his small farm, hoping to give her a life filled with compassion and comfort.
It’s genuinely tragic to see the pitiful treatment of dogs in so many obscure underdeveloped places, and nothing can ever justify this abusive mentality. Let’s raise our voices against the mistreatment of dogs and help spread awareness about animal welfare.
