Men See “Balloon” In Ocean, But Realize It’s A Poor Creature Fighting For Life

Bryce Trevett and Angel Hernandez were jet-skiing off the coast of Palos Verdes in Los Angeles, when they spotted a strange “balloon” floating in the middle of the ocean, writes ilovemydogsomuch

As they moved to have a closer look, they were horrified to find a young Loggerhead sea turtle badly entangled in a Mylar balloon.

In this video, we see Bryce jumping into the ocean to save the sea turtle who was rendered motionless. His head and front flippers were tangled in the balloon, and his back flippers were cinched tight within its strings. Bryce and Angel rescued the turtle and carefully clipped off the tangled sections of the balloon.

The sea turtle looked strong and healthy, so the pair released him back into the ocean. This is the second time Bryce and Angel have found a turtle tangled up in trash in the past few months, and they claim that the ocean is filled with discarded balloons that threaten marine life.

The duo hopes that people dispose balloons responsibly instead of setting them free in the air. This video is incredibly disheartening and eye-opening at the same time. It’s about time humans stopped littering and harming the well-being of other creatures.
